 A State of Restlessness (Open)

The hour was pass midnight as Ranko has taken shelter in a hotel in the city of Latina. Yes even a woman like Ranko needed to sleep. Her blood red trench coat tested on a coat hanger in the room as she let her long red hair down and out of the ponytail she wears during the day. Only in her black jeans and sleeveless black shirt at the moment as she took off her gloves, boots, and even her socks to allow her bare feet to breeze. To her right she has a window with a good view of the moon outside and night skies. Under her warm sheets and blanket and around her arms was the Kasul in its sheath so the blade could not cut her. She suddenly pulled it closer to her body in the mist of her sleep, having a type of death grip on it as if she thought something would appear in the night and try to take the blade away from her.

But this was impossible due to the blade’s ability. Anything that tried to wield it would be devour of their strength and their soul. And on top of that they wouldn’t be able to pick it up. Not even the Greek myth Heracles would be able to lift this blade in all his half god strength. Only it chosen could wield the blade. And it chosen was Ranko. Maybe only because of the devil inside of her. Or maybe something else drew the blade to her? Only it would know. But the formal was the most logical reason. But Ranko thought she was just... special. That she was meant to have this kind of power. It was scary just how much she solely relied on this sword and the devil within. Whatever would she do if she was one day strip of both. Especially now with an angel assault happening on earth. She would just be another victim. Another victim that could do nothing but wait for death.

She tossed and turns in her sleep, the sword going with her as it was tightly around both her arms in her warm embrace. She wasn’t a woman that dreamed often but as the night went on the only thing she had was to drift into her thoughts. She found herself escaping the real world in her sleep and into... well not really a fantasy world as nothing was around her. Just a large black empty space and yet she was sitting down, her back leant up against someone else who looked just like her, dressed just like she would be when she was out and about only it had green hair, green eyes and a green trench coat. The green version of her more or less. A form the Kasul was able to take in her mind and her mind alone.
“I feel so warm in your embrace my dear,” it said slyly as it turned its head over to look at her.
For once a small blush that she would deny later and find obsolete due to this being basically a dream later on, appeared on her facial features as she looked down to her feet that was planted firmly on the black nothingness as if it was a floor inside a building. She would soon feel arms wrap around her upper body as Kasul leaned against her more resting its chin on her shoulder. If it wasn’t the fact that this was basically a devil embracing her that would send her off the loose end it was the fact it was doing this in a copy cat body of her.
“Do you have any idea how disturbing this feels?”

The Kasul only chuckled as the female arms turned male and the devil took the appearance of a young white male in his twenties matching the physical age of Ranko as he now had short blonde hair and of course the signature green eyes of Kasul as he still wore the same attire only in a male size to go with the new appearance as he brought his lips up to her ear.
“Is this more to your liking?” he whispered sweetly in her ear.
She didn’t pull away from him right away. Something about him was just keeping her sitting there allowing him to hold her close, so close. Allowing him to blow gently in her ear before she finally broke away from his embrace and stood up her back on the Kasul that took an attractive male human form just for her. The blackness around them transformed into an actual double bed room with brown wooden floors, walls and ceiling. The room she and her younger sister lived in upon the second floor of their house all those years ago. Of all the places she could’ve thought up she chose this place. Walking over to her sister bed and sitting at the end of. Allowing her hands to run along the surface of the bed while Kasul just stood there staring at the ceiling.

“Still worried about your sister?”
“I’ll worry for who and what I please,” she responded coolly.
“No need to get so defensive.”
He walked over to the bed and sat down next to her. Slowly letting a hand on her thigh as she just sat there staring down on the floor reliving the memories of her childhood. The good and the bad. Remembering those times she didn’t care enough to save her sister from the beatings she would endure from their father. Wondering if that was the right thing to do after all... Wondering if she should had stopped it. But before she could even ask the question the Kasul answered:
“You did her a favor my baby. The girl needed to learn to take care of herself. And if she survived this long there’s no need to worry about her safety any longer. Don’t let it eat you live.”

His hand started to slowly rub her thigh and she made no move to stop it. She just sat there continuing to stare at the floor being quiet during the rubbing. Almost forgetting this was a devil’s spirit trapped in a sword that was talking to her. He brought his hand up to her chin and turned her head gently to him making their eyes meet as he looked into her eyes deeply almost like a lover would before his face started to move closer to hers. Their lips about ready to connect with one another until Ranko found herself awakened back into the real world looking up to the ceiling on her bed. Ranko sat up and turned over to the Kasul lying next to her on the bed still in its sheath. Maybe she should stop sleeping with the thing as she stood up and put on her socks, followed by her boots. She didn’t want to stay here for much longer she had places to go. She obviously wouldn’t feel at rest until she could find her sister and know she’s all right. She went over to the window and upon this day she saw the back of someone dressed in blue and black. A scythe which was the signature weapon for her sister planted on their back and the woman hair being short and black. Her eyes widen as she jumped to the assumption that was Maricul. She tied her hair with the black ribbon into her pony tail quickly and strap her sheath back onto her back before opening her window and not wanting to take the long way, jumped out of the window and landed on her feet as she ran the direction the female figure that looked like her sister went. But when she came around the corner she saw no one in sight. She looked around the area.
“Maricul!? MARICUL!?”
No answer came until..............
