Name: Kel Eligor
Alias: The Paradox
Age: None
Race: Immortal
Alias: The Paradox
Age: None
Race: Immortal
Appearance: In appearance, Kel Eligor looks rather handsome even through his somewhat gruff looks, his muscles having been defined to the epitome of their form through constant training through and survival.
Carrying medium length, straight white hair, undoubtedly the most striking point most notice when meeting Kel are the constant shadows that lingers over his eyes, the darkness itself so opaque that no sight whatsoever, even that of a magical eye, could see through. All that have been able to gaze into his glare have mostly fallen to folly or depression, rambling about “Those great Emerald orbs…”.
Kel wears an attire of white clothes and cloaks to cover most of his identity while not in fact restricting himself any movements whatsoever. The clothing itself is rather light and flows easily with the his movements, not hindering him in the least.
Amongst other things, Kel wears small armor pieces that also serve him as utility belts since it carries an array of daggers and leather pouches which he had carefully secured at his back for whatever small supplies he would have needed in his traveling, when he was still a mortal. Awkwardly enough, one of the armor pieces at his chest covers the side opposite to where his heart would be, offering no protection whatsoever to this most vital point.
The other armor piece is tied to his stomach by a long, red silk scarf that extends along the back with the rest of his cloak’s cape.
He also wears armor of similar style as armbands over others made of leather to provide additional protection. He is also known to wear a glove exclusively on his left hand for an unknown reason.
Personality: Not many can boast of having met this man, and even fewer can say that they have exchanged a word with him… Never mind a few. Kel is a very reserved individual when being addressed, as he usually speaks his mind first to any person he has business with, and tends to ignore all others who even have either enough courage, or stupidity to talk with him.
Surprisingly pacific, Kel will usually avoid needless fights as best as he can even though he never hesitates to use violence should negotiations fail. Never having been able to see the world because of his blindness, Kel perception of life itself differs greatly from that of others, bordering sometimes philosophy and madness, as he sees its fragile beauty like a flower which blooms in spring and eventually dies in the winter, all in an endless cycle of birth, death and resurrection, and thus, he feels nothing towards life, human or otherwise when death takes its toll on it, seeing it as a simple law of the nature that gives and takes life freely from all things it creates.
With motives unknown even to those that can dare say knowing him, Kel is as enigmatic an individual as is the frightening story behind his legend, as the wandering Immortal.
Abilities:
Name: Animus gaze
Description: His inhuman eyes glowing like stars in the day, and as fire in the night, they have long been atrophied from use and blinded Kel from the rest of the material world, although due to his connections with Animus, he has been able ever since to ‘see’ the energy that binds the universe, as if by plunging himself within the darkness, he opened his eyes into a world of light. No longer distracted by the external appearance of things, he is able to see the true nature of all things, and discern the core of their soul and essence with a mere glance of his Immortal eyes. Because of this, limitations of the human eye no longer thwart him either; distance, and movement no longer mean anything to his sight.
Drawback: Kel is unable to see as mortal eyes are meant to see. He cannot discern color, hues, or spectrums of light. He is inherently blind to the material world.
Name: Eternal Haze
Description: To see through Kel’s eyes is one thing, although to look into them is another. The reason why Kel constantly hides his gaze under a cloak of darkness is because of their innate ability to strike fear in those that manage to see them. Although the degree of terror remains subjective from being to being, the feeling is irrefutable, even to those who’s heart have since long died and turned to dust. If he so wills it, Kel is able to make others see horrors beyond their deepest imagination.
Drawback: Kel’s eyes must be seen for them to make effect, furthermore, eye contact must be maintained if they are to become hypnotized.
Name: Animus manipulation
Description: Kel has the ability to control ‘Animus’, which is bound to every existing thing, as it bears the essence of the divine power that created the universe. He is able to manipulate it, and give it shape through a sheer act of will. The limit to what he can do is only drawn by his knowledge, as his body adapted to the exposure of Animus over the years, where a human would be fatally injured if his body were to be a conduit of the energy. Combining his ability to see Animus and control it, he is able to manipulate matter as well as ethereal energies he sees fit.
Drawback: Depending on the magnitude of power used, using Animus strains the mind, inherently slowing the body down in the process. A simple telekinetic task such as throwing a rock across a room wouldn’t affect the user, although cutting the roof off of a building would put Kel in a stationary position until Animus is no longer used.
Name: Immortal fortitude
Description: Because his body has been exposed to Animus over the millennia’s, it has also changed, becoming far more resistant, stronger and faster then any human’s. With Animus, it can be enhanced to surpass its limits even further, either in one or many aspects of the body’s senses and traits.
Drawback: If Animus is used further to enhance physical attributes, fatigue and exhaustion of the body will follow.
Weapons:
Name: Paradox
Description: Forged by Kel’s hands after shattering his bounds to fate, Paradox is a weapon that feasts upon all energies that shapes the world. Drinking all sources of life, it sucks away one’s blood and soul as the blade slices through flesh, weakening both the mind and the body, every wounds becoming a greater burden upon the victim’s shoulders as every part of his or her being are destroyed by the blade.
Drawback: All magic is eaten by the blade’s insatiable thirst, including the wielder’s soul. Paradox’s voracious nature makes it a double-edged weapon; the blade drains the life of its enemies, but also that of its wielder if its thirst is not satisfied. Paradox must constantly feed itself, either by cutting or slaying as soon as it is awoken. In its sheath, it remains dormant and harmless to the world around it. If the thirst of the blade persists, its wielder will slowly fatigue mentally and eventually the effects will display themselves physically. The body will weaken and exhaust, until it eventually dies. The hungrier it becomes, the more drastic the effects will grow to be. After a week, the wielder will be stripped bare of all life force.
Name: Anima
Description: An ancient Sword that has seen both the birth and death of Kel’s clan, it shares a story as obscure and fragmented as its current master. Clad in an unnamed dark alloy, it was forged through long forgotten means and rituals. It is said to be indestructible. Having maintained its sharpness even through the ages, Anima’s true power resides in its ability to conduct ethereal energies.
Drawback: To properly use Anima’s ability, one must be both skilled in the arcane arts and the ways of the blade. Furthermore, to maintain Anima’s magical imbues, it is necessary to sustain focus, making a duel inherently more difficult while using this sword. Anima forces the user to concentrate his energies on two things at once, alas, without intuitive knowledge on how to use it at the same time as it’s abilities, it is nothing more than a simple blade. To use Anima, one must forthwith be a Master of magic, and accustom himself to the blade’s unique response to variant types of enchantments.
Historic: Kel is an enigmatic being with a fragmented past hidden behind millennia’s of existence. He was born in Cairo, Egypt, nearly two thousand years before the beginning of the Common Era, into a secret order name The Animus.
Unlike the main population in this era, where the people worshipped many gods, the Animus alleged themselves to none, only believing in the core of creation itself, as they were amongst the first to uncover the true nature of divine power, which they named after their Order.
The very essence of creation running like a current throughout the universe, they saw that all things were bound to it, had it been a material object or a thought, everything that came into existence was inherently bound to it, condemned by its divine force.
Opening their mind to its infinity, generations by generations, they slowly uncovered its secrets until some of them touched it with their soul and learned to shape it to their own will.
With the passing of decades, they only strived to learn more until a certain day they became so enthralled in their knowledge of the divine, that it invited them into the realm of light, as their fate was to return to the wheel of fate, where their soul were irresistibly drawn to become one with the universe again.
Having developed intimate connections with his abilities since a very young age, Kel was most sensible to the happenings of the outside world, and being disgusted by leaving behind a world tainted with evil, he shredded his bounds to fate in a cataclysmic moment where he turned away from the sight of all creation. An artifact belonging to the cultists, an amulet, was destroyed in the stead of his life, and so he was reborn as a Paradox, cursed to wander the world aimlessly, unbound and un-predestined.
Since that fateful day where Kel lost the last vestiges of his humanity, he strived to rid the land of the forces that longed to rid the world of humans, and control them as pawns, taking it upon himself to act as the only true medium for humanity’s party on the holy battlefield of the holy war fought by the bastions of Heaven and Hell.
