Name: Ranko
Nickname: Lady in Red
Red Eyes Devil
Little Mis Vampire
Big Sword Momma
Ranki.
Age: 567 (Physically 25.)
Species: Demon posse human
Appearance: Ranko is fairly tall for a female who average height is five foot three. She stands at a height of five foot and seven inches, while weighing one hundred and twenty two pounds. She has very long and straight blood red hair which goes down pass her waist, and is usually tied up in a single pony tail with a black ribbon. Her blood red colored matching eyebrow proving she’s a natural red head is straight and thin. Her face being oval shape, her skin being a pale shade of white which makes some humans mistake her as a vampire. Her eyes are round and colored blood red. Naturally born with blue eyes but turned red after the devil entered her body.
Her bangs cover her entire forehead right above her eyebrows. With her skin and eye color she is easily mistaken for a vampire from some hunters. Her lips are thin and color matches her skin and never touched any type of lipstick over the years. Her built is average with slight muscle tones on her arms, legs, and thighs area. Her fingernails are three inches long, yeah not someone you want to get an eye poke from.
Her most common of clothes is a sleeveless black shirt that buttons up from the front via buttons with a collar that also button from the front. She wears a pair of black jeans to match with the shirt, and black socks covered by black combat boot. She wear a pair of fingerless black gloves on her hands. She wears a long blood red trench coat that goes down just two inches pass her knees. It has two buttons in the front and around the sleeves. She never buttons up the front allowing the front of her sleeveless shirt to be visible.
Personality: Ranko is a very complex person. On the outside she is basically strip of all emotions, she isn’t happy, she isn’t sad, she doesn’t get angry, she doesn’t get shy, she doesn’t blush, and etc. She’s a very serious person, and she will usually keep conversations short, sweet, and to the point. She is very uptight, most likely if you told a joke to her she would stare at you blankly and continue walking down the road away from you. Most of the time unless she has an important or good enough reason to talk to you she will just walk you by without even a second glance.
She is freelance. She doesn’t care about any one group, and she would prefer to avoid fights instead of being blood lusting, or fight craving enough to start a random battle that has no true purpose and no honor to start and finish. She also shows no interest in the opposite sex in a sexual or emotional ways, and neither does she show interest in the same sex (mind you.) She’s a loner, and most of the time she prefers to be alone even without the words of Kasul bothering her and there is only a “select” amount of people who company she wouldn’t mind.
However, underneath her emotionless shell she still holds emotions from what is left of her humanity. She pity certain groups of people. Fools who fight for no reason, people who have no true purpose in life but just to live. She also has a weak spot for children and is bother by the fact when someone abuses them, even though on the outside she would never show it. She still love her younger sister even though nowadays they’re rival with that rivalry at a somewhat stand still. She can get angry, but it takes a hell of a lot to anger her usually relaxed and calm self. You would have to get deep within her soul to draw her out her true anger. And even though she would rather die a slow painful death than admit it, she does find members of the opposite sex attractive. She is still a woman after all.
Even though her purpose is to strengthen the devil within her and to absorb the souls of creatures to keep her own blade strong there is still some good left in her. Some times depending on her moods she would even subtly hint to an enemy to flee so she wouldn’t be force to fight, kill, and absorb their soul forever within the blade Kasul. She argues with Kasul fairly often, with a battle of good vs. evil truly taking place in her own mind.
Strengths: 6x speed than a human.
5x strength than a human
Very enhanced endurance (She can take a lot more pain. Not be knocked out from getting run over. And if a stone broke on her skull the most it would do is make her stagger, etc. Though she could still die via stoning if you just kept hitting and hitting and hitting...ya...)
5x regeneration. (Depending on what causing the damage she can heal faster than other times.)
Hand to hand combat
Sword combat.
Weaknesses: Blessings.
Silver.
Kasul thoughts in her mind distraction her during battle.
Too much damage.
Regeneration doesn't heal over as fast to blessings.
Beheading (what a duh that is no?)
Too much blood lost (still a duh, but a needed one.)
Her emotions.
Her sister.
Weapons: The Kasul
The Kasul is a blade forged in the fires of hell from a demon named Nara who made the weapon as a host for the spirit of the devil Kasul to have as his body was now destroyed, hence the name being The Kasul. The weapon posses the power to absorb the soul little by little with each slash. It can also drain the strength of another little by little with each slash making them weak if it doesn’t cut that poor person to bit first... The blade also has a gravity seal to ensure not just anyone can grab the hilt of the blade and wield it. The Kasul chooses it users and releases the gravity seal upon it chosen user. Because of the demon spirit the sword is basically alive, but can only speak in the form of telepathy (and can only read the mind of it user, which is Ranko.)
If an opponent have no soul then it obviously wouldn’t be draining anything. And since it’s alive and can only speak through the mind, every time it speaks to it user it can distract her in the middle of a duel and cause a mistake to be made.
History: Ranko story begins 567 years ago in a small unknown village. She was born to a highly regarded priest in the village Saul and his wife Mary. Perhaps even at birth her fate was sealed as a devil reduce to nothing but it spirit form left the body of her mother, which it now found to be old and worn for it tastes and enter the body of the new born, just biding its time and remaining hidden showing not even the slightest of hints it was inside the new born so for the time being it could hide until it found it counter part.
Ranko would be raised into the Christian religion of course. Though even with having to have her nose in the bible everyday she didn’t fully believe in this, nor understood it. And having a father like Saul didn’t help things as he had a “don’t question it or you’ll burn in fires that never die out forever” attitude towards the whole thing. And her mother was spineless with no true opinion of her own, so she just went along with everything Saul said. Ranko wasn’t always emotionless on the outside and hid her true feelings. She use to be very social, and outgoing and made friends with other children her age around the village.
But when she was alone, with no one to talk to she felt that she wasn’t truly alone. She felt there was something else in the room, that knew her every thought. That knew her every sin. That knew her every emotion. And that knew her every secret desire. At first she thought this could be the presence of God, or perhaps even a guardian angel? But no, this feeling brought a more darker feeling to her than God or an angel would, surely. But she could not bring herself to talk to her parents about it. The last thing she needed was her father thinking she posse (heh) but she had no problems opening up to her friends about the feelings, like most kids even now would.
She would become more socially awkward once her the devil within started to slowly show on the outside of Ranko. Causing her once beautiful blue eyes to turn blood red. A scream came from Mary, and worry surrounded Saul at seeing such a change of eye color like this. He didn’t even want her to leave the house. What would his image be like if his daughter is thought to be a devil? Yes, the man only cared about his own image, and nothing else. Ranko wouldn’t stay in the house and of course when some of her friends started to fear, judge, and make fun of her for her outside appearance she was hurt deep inside, and distance herself greatly from the rest of the village. Because of her pale skin and blood red eyes she was given two nicknames. The Red Eyes Devil, and Little Ms. Vampire. She took offense to both nicknames.
At the age of seven her mother would be pregnant with another child. And gave birth to another daughter she named Maricul. Ranko was afraid to even look at the child when she receive her eyesight in fear that she would be afraid of her own eyes. But after her mother insisted for her to take a look at her sister the only thing she received from the child was a small, innocent smile of a new born baby. It wouldn’t take long for her to get closely attached to Maricul, now having no friends that wanted to be seen around her anymore she would stay inside with the baby. She was there for her first everything. Her first words, her first steps, just watching her grow up. Though it annoyed her greatly that to her vain attempts of teaching the child her name Maricul would call her “Ranki” instead of Ranko. She kept repeating her actual name several times to try to rub it off to her but for some reason the name “Ranki” stuck to Maricul mind. And Ranko surrender the battle.
The name would rub off on Ranko as both girls got older. Maricul would continue to call her Ranki and in return Ranko would call her Mari for short. It was their thing. Their relationship continued to evolve. A relationship perhaps all sisters and brothers should have when you think about it. Ranko was also her protector, even from their own father. Saul would begin to abuse his wife, and Maricul, but for some reason he would never lay a finger on Ranko’s head. Perhaps the idea of her being demon posse still haunted, creeping a fear inside his soul? Either way she used it to her advantage to save Maricul and her mother from a number of beatings.
Upon the age of twenty five however everything would change for the worst. The devil within her would finally start to rise more to the surface. It would cause Ranko personality to deeply change, her emotions to be hidden, for her to lick the surface of the side of evil more so than she would had ever imagine. Her relationship with Maricul started to slowly die for a while, as Ranko was too taken by the devil that posse her. No longer saving Maricul from the beatings of their father. One day she would wander off from the house and to the church. A strange force not the same, but smiler to the force she could feel inside her calling out for her.
She went deep into the back of the church and found a large box. Tapping into strength she did not yet know she had she opened the box and there it lied. The Kasul blade. It aura grew stronger as it knew from the bond of its creator that the devil, Nara, whom created it when Kasul’s body was destroyed so it sprit had a place to stay and so they could remain together. It more or less seduced Ranko, just edging her on to touch the hilt, to wield the weapon. It released it gravity bound and allowed her to wield it solely for the fact that the Nara devil was inside her. She was the puppet in their plot to regain full power. And it felt nice for her to hear a mature sexy male voice inside her head that called her such things like its “Chosen One” and “Baby”.
Kasul wasted no time in telling her their story. Making them sound like the good guys. Born from the fires of hell, having a bound like brothers. Spreading fear from “sinners” doing a great job in making what would be their evil ways of spreading fear and killing human lives sound like it was warranted to the young woman’s mind. Until they fought with an angel that was too much even for them. It destroyed Kasul’s body making it needed for Nara to create such a weapon. And later on when they had their rematch with the angel it would be Nara body to fall, and have to last through years going from host to host, animals, in order to survive. Nara then explained through the Kasul that it lived inside her mother remaining hidden. And that Kasul, was sealed away inside this box since they had no way of destroying the blade truly. It was kept from church after church like this one. Now she has set it free.
When she left the room she would be confronted by her younger sister who was sent to find her for dinner. Just requiring the blade she wished to test it out. So she engaged in battle with her sister. A short and one sided battle but a test more or less. The blade yelled within the debts of Ranko’s mind to kill her, wishing to swallow it first soul. But Ranko refused. That was the one sin she refused to commit. Their father enter the building furiously, and then like lighting, fear struck him when he saw that Ranko was wielding the blade this church was chosen to protect. All fears was confirmed, and Saul was too much of a coward to do anything against her. She left the building and distance herself further from the others, now being trained by Kasul to tap into the powers that was given to her from the presence of the devil Nara.
Saul would send word to the other churches that Kasul has allowed a wielder to wield it. And of course not all messages can be kept secret. There was many unholy beings that would desire to claim such a blade, being ignorance to the fact they would be able to do nothing with it. Another church group came in hopes to take the blade away from the girl and seal it away again, but they was beaten there by an undead black knight that took their lives. The knight would storm the city and think Maricul posse the blade. Her coward of a father even said this so the knight would leave him be with the threats and questions about the blade. Too afraid to say something that could cross Ranko later. The knight, seeing that torturing the girl was not working took her mother and threaten to take her life if she did not give him the blade.
Sadly for Ranko she arrival on the scene one second too late, just in time to see her mother throat get cut open by the knight leaving Maricul soaking in tears. Anger welled up inside Ranko and she battled the knight, beheading it, sending him back to the grave. Looking down to her dead mother with such guilt that she would not show. It was all because he wanted “her” blade. If only she was there sooner. She could’ve saved her. The whole village was out during this time, and Saul at once blamed the death on Ranko. In an act of defense Ranko killed the other villagers, creating a slaughter, leaving them in a pool of their own blood and draining their souls into the Kasul blade after their death. She would never forget the look of fear on her sister eyes at seeing her so coldly, emotionlessly kill those people. Ranko knew she could no longer stay so she took off, and this would be the last time Ranko and Mari looked at each other for a long time coming.
She would travel the world, never staying at one place for too long. She would get money any way she could get it. Kill wild animals and eat them to survive. Learning more and more about the powers she now holds, and not knowing that she was the pawn to a chest game being played by the demons. She would come to another village where perhaps her fondness for children first came along. She would see a boy being picked on by others. And it reminded her of her sister. Not being able to mind her own business as she tried to she stepped in the saved the boy from a beating by holding back the arm of who looked to be the lead bully. Squeezing his wrist perhaps more than she should have, since she could had easily crush it. They ran off and the boy, introducing himself as Kirkan started to get attach with the woman.
When she left she would find that the boy was following her from behind. She ordered him to go home but she refused. She could’ve easily killed, or ran away but she was trying to keep a low profile and she refused to harm a child. After hearing the boy story of feeling like a outcast she related too much with him. And allowed him to follow her ignoring Kasul being against the idea. Perhaps she thought this was her chance at redemption, to make up for where she went wrong in her relationship with Maricul? Like many before him Kirkan would come up with a nickname for her. Big Sword Momma, for the reasons that she wielded such a big sword.
Kirkan mother and a small group of warriors would who she was friends with would search for the child. And find him with Ranko and jumping to the conclusion that she kidnaped him. Ignoring him trying to explain they proceeded to arrest her. If it was anyone else she would’ve fought back but she was afraid to. Afraid to repeat the slaughter she did back at her village. She went quietly and tried to warn them not to touch her blade that they wanted her to drop. They didn’t listen and left her with little choice but to drop the blade on the ground. One of the warriors tried to pick it up but he felt his soul being drain slowly. She had to kick him away from the sword for his own life. Once they seen what it can do she pleaded with them to let her just hold the sword, after she agreed to go quietly.
When she was trial she tried to explain everything but Kasul would not show the same patience as her and nor would the devil within. She was once again asked to surrender the blade she held it forward and she loss control of her own arm movement, impaling the soldier that was to take the blade away. When she regain control of herself it was too late. She found herself surrounded by soldiers and once again had to defend herself. Refusing to kill any of them, she fought them off with ease and left the town. She would be confronted by Kirkan ill temper mother and they fought. It was a one sided battle as she was not prepared to face someone like Ranko. She refused to killed her, or seriously harm her. But the minor damage she did was enough to upset Kirkan and throw himself in front of her. Being called a monster by the boy in a way, broke her heart. And she ran off, feeling to have repeated a sin she once vow she wouldn’t make again.
Sadly Ranko luck throughout her life span would not get any better, being able to stay young when she would be old enough to be someone grandmother through years had it perks but it seems she had more enemies than friends. She would be confronted by a crazed religious group that would be known later through years as “extremists” killing in the name of God, and wielding tools to do this. Ranko would experience her weaknesses first hand in a battle with the group, being stabbed with arrows that was blessed, and assaulted with blades blessed as well. The damage from the blessed weapons was too much for her to bear and she was defeated. And capsule by the group and questioned. Mostly about the unholy blade she wielded.
After having little choice but to answer they decided what to do with her. They chose not to kill her but use her gifts for their own. And with the fear of death hung over her head, and the knowledge that they had the tools to kill her easier than opponents from the past she followed their orders. And she was forced to serve them for two hundred years. Until she was ordered to kill a familiar face she never thought she would see again. Maricul. The woman was turned into a vampire and now she was left with a choice to kill her. And again, she would rather die before she committed such a sin. She turned against the group and for both their own survivor they combat against them. Ranko been with them long enough to know how they fought, and finally defeated them, and killed them. Maricul left Ranko side after their victory, saying she had to return to her master. Ranko went on her way, with her now younger vampire sister stuck in her mind.
She would vanish from the pages of history. Keeping her low profile. Draining the souls of what she could, and what she needed to for the power of the blade she wielded. Still unknown to the fact she was being used. They have done such a good job in making her believe she was the master and they was her servant. Now through the years she continue having little purpose but to only grow stronger. And be haunted by two mistakes she wish she could correct.
