The Skrull invasion has been prevented. Lives were lost and families torn asunder. Those who are the most powerful have decided to recreate the Illuminati. Charles Xavier, Black Bolt, Doctor Strange, Mr. Fantastic and Iron Man have come together with the solution to keep their worlds safe from another threat from occurring once again. Creating a cosmic cube, the Illuminati will be endowed with the ability to send the Skrulls back to their own space and create a barrier around Earth where any Skrull technology would become inert once passing through. Once this has been accomplished, the Illuminati decided that the power of the cube is too great and utilizes their great mines to 'uncreate' it. The cube is broken into its subsequent sides and given to each member of the Illuminati.
Doctor Doom, having received information about the power of the cube, gathers the most powerful villains of his own, creating what is called The Philosophers. Their primary goal, recreate the cosmic cube and take over the world. It is up to the heroes to scramble together and stop this diabolical plot and save the world!
