Name: Lihin Marada
Nickname: The Eternal Chain.
Age: Unknown
Species: Immortal
Appearance:
Back when he to was but a mere mortal, Lihin was gifted with a very rare beauty, born with pure semi- long milky white hair, he was easily able to melt the heart of a woman with but one gaze from his breathtaking eyes, furthermore he displayed a muscular build which even showed through his common white robes suitable for that of a priest or a monk. After his unity with Anima however, his corporeal shell changed. His body is now merely a creation by his own will through anima, and so to is his attire. Having maintained the physical appearance of his old self, Lihin now wears a form of bodysuit equipped with a hooded cape in a slivery colour with a slight mark of grey on it, like the ash of an ember, made from a unique material similar to cloth, allowing swift decisive action and no restriction of movement in battle. His eyes however, were forever changed ever since the day he returned to the world of men. Glowing with an inner azure light, the sapphire glance of these beautiful gem stones are capable of striking terror in the hearts of even the bravest of beings, thus they are a rare sight indeed, and is usually cloaked underneath a hood of darkness.
Personality:
During his days as part of the same brotherhood as Kel Eligor, Lihin served as one of the high priests of their order. Even for a man of his status, he was quite the enigmatic figure, posseing very unique personality traits and a strong will which shined through to others under his guidance. As well as having a warm caring heart, even brandishing a wisdom that brought shame to some of the elders of the order. However his calm, kind nature was not meant to last, on that fateful day of the orders death, everything changed. Refusing the return to that false "wheel of fate" Lihin instead chose to become one with the very thing he worshipped, Anima. As he faded into the current, his last thoughts were of hatred towards that damned ‘wheel’, still spinning its lies at every turn. Trapped within this limbo, Lihin underwent certain dramatic changes. Since anima is the very life force of the universe, all existing things within the cosmos are in touch with it's divine power. In this purgatory, Lihin was thus exposed to all the different emotions and wills of the earths populace.
Rage, fear, frustration and agony all these different set of wills was simply to much for his soul to bear, and caused him to go utterly insane.
He is now merely a hollow shape of the man he once was, a cruel and sarcastic fiend consumed by madness in its purest form, and is even shown clinging to the nature of a sociopath. He stands atop his ‘omnipotent’ power, and strikes mercilessly at others who would dare stand in the way of his ideals. When he speaks he talks as if being all- knowing, having already calculated the true purpose and nature of the other party, to that end, he is often depicted ridiculing others, as well as his enemies in battle. Mocking them with a certain characteristic, maniacal cackle, displaying his insanity in every sense of the word. Furthermore he seems to have alot of reference to philosophy and different types of mythology such as Christianity, which he quotes pages of from time to time, both in battle and outside of it. This is another result of having been exposed to humanity's wills. Since all things are bound to the Will of Anima, it was as if he could see the entire course of history being played out before his very eyes as part of the current. The inventions of man, great leaders taking up the sword to fund new kingdoms, tyrants being born and slain, their entire course of evolution. Thus Lihin is extremely knowledgeable as well as being presumptuous, and is almost never surprised by the outcome of a certain event. As if the entire world is merely a carefully set game of chess in which he is the one who controls the pawns upon the board, in this most delicate war between good and evil.
Abilities:
Name: Animus manipulation
Description:
Lihin has the ability to control ‘Animus’, which is bound to every existing thing, as it bears the essence of the divine power that created the universe. He is able to manipulate it, and give it shape through a sheer act of will. The limit to what he can do is only drawn by his knowledge. Seeing how the members of the order were exposed to animus over the years, their bodies would eventually adapt, while others would break, same as with any normal human would be fatally injured if their bodies were to be a conduit of the energy, this is not the case with Lihin. Having given up his fleshly form to become one with Anima the day his foolish clan returned to the wheel, he spent more then an eternity nurturing his abilities as part of the current. Combining his ability to see Animus, to feel every little flicker of change within it's delicate flow, he is able to manipulate matter as well as ethereal energies as he sees fit.
Drawback:
Depending on the magnitude of power used, an Animus user would strain the mind, inherently slowing the body down in the process. This however is not the case with Lihin, since his entire body is a part of anima, held together by his will alone, he would suffer no restraints. All that he would need to concern himself with is the amount of focus put into the ability used, since his body is being maintained within the material world due to his will alone, he must take care not to overuse the power of animus lest he return to the source, lost in the ether once again.
Name: Shroud of Iscariot
Description:
Having forsaken his mortal body long ago, a pure consciousness has no true form. Thus Lihin's material form is merely a manifestation of his will alone, if he wished for it he could simply take on another, this much like manipulating animus is limited only by his knowledge. Supposedly he merely clings to his old form due to the fact that it does not require him to use any effort to maintain, where as taking on the form of another would require a small amount of will and focus alone, granting him plenty of opportunity’s to pass for other creatures.
Drawback:
In order for him to use this art of deception, it is required that eye contact must be maintained long enough for him to rob away a small fraction of the beings soul needed to shape his body accordingly.
Name: Eternal Chain
Description:
Free from the bonds of flesh, Lihin's body is merely the physical manifestation of his own will. With the power of animus coursing throughout his entire body, he is indeed what one can describe as being virtually immortal. Since he is forever a part of Anima, a flickering soul within its flow of divine power, he cannot die. Cut the limbs from his body and they will simply regenerate almost instantly through the Will of Anima. Even reducing him to particles wont make him disappear from the cosmos. This however merely fuels the source of his insanity, since he is doomed to walk this earth forever, shunned by all for what he is.
Drawback:
Once again like all manipulations of animus he must take care that his will does not falter, if the pressure becomes to much, he will need to retreat from the field of battle before he exerts the limitations of his focus. If he becomes weakened
to the point of being forced to return to anima, it would mean he will join with it like any other soul. Thus he must remain above it, stronger. Furthermore, his regenerating powers may seem overwhelming, but if his body is blown to particles or even atoms, it will take quite a while before his body will be whole once again.
Name: Eternal Haze
Description:
To see through Lihin's eyes is one thing, although to look into them is another. The reason why he constantly hides his gaze under a cloak of darkness is because of their innate ability to strike fear in those that manage to see them, this is merely for the sake of subtlety, quite frankly he would love to see the pitiful beings of this world cower in fear before him. Although the degree of terror remains subjective from being to being, the feeling is irrefutable, even to those who’s heart have since long died and turned to dust. If he so wills it, Lihin is able to make others see horrors beyond imagining. Also due to his link with Animus, Lihin is able to force the very weight of time unto whoever gazes into his eyes, like the smallest corn of sand being crushed by millions of others in that ominous hourglass.
Drawback:
Lihin’s eyes must be seen for them to make effect, furthermore, eye contact must be maintained if they are to become hypnotized.
Name: Animus gaze
Description:
His inhuman eyes glowing like stars in the day, and as fire in the night, they have long been atrophied from use and blinded Lihin from the rest of the material world, although due to his connections with Animus, he has been able ever since to ‘see’ the energy that binds the universe, as if by plunging himself within the darkness, he opened his eyes into a world of light. No longer distracted by the external appearance of things, he is able to see the true nature of all things, and discern the core of their soul and essence with a mere glance of his Immortal eyes. Because of this, limitations of the human eye no longer thwart him either; distance, and movement no longer mean anything to his sight.
Drawback: Lihin is unable to see as mortal eyes are meant to see. He cannot discern colour, hues, or spectrums of light. He is inherently blind to the material world.
Weapons:
Name: Abstergo
Description:
Abstergo is an ancient blade, forged within the hallowed halls of the order as a dual bladed sword, which can be separated into two twin blades and reattached, granting its user plenty of ways to slaughter their enemies. Furthermore this blade has been imbued with strange magical properties, once drawn, it will start to absorb Anima’s divine energy within the area around it, greatly increasing its overall strength. Once it has been fuelled by these arcane energies, it can release focused waves of Animus in its pure form, however only and animus user would be able to invoke the powers it holds, an inexperienced user would undoubtedly die attempting to manipulate these ethereal energies. Since the blade has been imbued by the elders of the order millennia ago, it is believed to be indestructible. Time itself holds no power over this weapon, its steel will remain as pure as the silvery glance of the moon, and as sharp as the devils fangs for as long as it remains in existence. Lihin first held this blade in the battle that would decide whether the order would live or die, as he fell, so to did the sword, and have been laying dormant ever since that day. However he returned to Egypt after his return to the material world, and reclaimed the sword, buried underneath the desert sands and ruins of a forgotten people. Due to the fact that this sword is linked with Anima, Lihin is able to summon it at will.
Drawback:
Abstergo however powerful is dependant on Anima to maximize its true potential, it needs to absorb Anima to utilize its devastating abilities, if there is no ethereal energy to be found, it is but a simple sword at best.
History:
In an age long since past, millennia before the beginning of the Common era, a child was born far off in what would later be known as the middle east. In the city of Cairo, Egypt, this elusive boy was born into a secret and mysterious order, who had discovered a most ancient and untold power. The order of Animus, a select group of people worshipping a certain entity that governs the universe, the divine power which binds all existing things within the cosmos, a life force exceeding far beyond the very powers of God, Anima. Having spent an eternity harnessing its secrets, the Animus opened their minds to the truth, and was welcomed into a world of light, as they were granted true sight through Anima. They could see the currents of energy flowing all around them, how everything was connected to this ethereal energy, and soon learned how to shape and control it, striving to learn its secrets, and with it, the reason behind human existence. Still this knowledge and power, was desired by many of the few who would even know of their existence, and even more feared these enlightened individuals. As such the inevitable happened, perhaps the elders had already foreseen it, perhaps not… regardless, the reality became all to clear for the Animus, their order, would fall.
One ominous night, judgement day fell upon them.. no warning was sent, no banter was given and no mercy granted. Their enemy striking from the unknown, clinging to the shadows as despicable cowards. They carved their way through the young and the weak before turning to the adapts, their silvery swords glinting in the elegant glow of the moon, their faces masked by pure white hoods and cloaks, however the nobility of their attire was soon washed away in the rivers of blood, as they caught the order by surprise. The Animus fought with great strength and valour… but it was not enough, their numbers were to great… the brave warriors of Animus were overrun, and all that was left… was a cruel heartless genocide, no one was spared. Lihin’s resistance in this, their final battle however great, was all in vain, he fell like the rest of his brothers. A blade pierced his body from behind, and in that moment his fears of the enemies nature was confirmed. As the life seeped out of his fleshly form like the blood in his veins. He beheld the light, before his glowing eyes, the beckoning of that abominable wheel, while others might have chosen to simply give in… to weak to struggle, he would not give in. He tore himself away from the lights embrace.. and plunged himself into the current of Anima with his last ounce of will, and was embraced by the ethereal flow of the divine power they worshiped, locked away in this purgatory for all eternity.
From here Lihin beheld as the world continued to live on before his eyes, his soul merely a flicker of energy within Anima at first, rapidly started to grow, as he slowly regained more and more control of himself as the centuries passed. His decision to live on as part of Anima was a double edged sword at best, however increasing his powers tremendously as they became nurtured over time, he paid with the last vestiges of his humanity, as his sanity was torn to pieces. Anima being the life force that binds the universe, Lihin was exposed to all the different set of will’s and emotions of the Earth, every little detail was channelled through him as he remained but a spectre within the flow of energy, granting him unlimited knowledge, but robbing him of his mind. An eternity passed, and Lihin continued to grow stronger within this limbo, until one day, he transcended. Through a sheer act of will alone, he broke free from the shackles that bound him to the current, reanimating his body in the world of men once again. His ideals as of now remain unknown to all but himself, as it has been for centuries, he walks upon this path and cares not of whether who lives or dies, nor even if this world will remain… all that matters to him is his own agendas, and he will allow none to stand in his way.
